WHO WE ARE

The #MuseumSurvivalKit social media project was developed during an online happy hour when five history museum advocates got excited about how the field can help now and have a little fun doing it. Below is a little bit about us.
Head shot of a woman.
Melanie Adams has over twenty years in the museum field serving in leadership positions in Missouri, Minnesota, and Washington, DC.  Thanks to a over zealous elementary school lunch lady, she can crochet pot holders, scarves, and anything that is a square or rectangle.

Jackie Barton runs Birch Wood Planning and the ARCUS Leadership Program and and spent every summer of her childhood picking green beans over a five-gallon bucket and canning them with her mother.

Michelle Moon is a leader in museum education and an independent consultant with a specialty in food interpretation. Thanks to her Brownie-to-Senior Girl Scouting career, she can start a fire with wet wood, build a shelter, and compass-navigate the way out of trouble - and end the day with a delicious Dutch Oven dinner.

After 15 years with Sites of Conscience and the Tenement Museum, Sarah Pharaon launched Dialogic Consulting in February 2020. She firmly believes that her grandfather's hand-cranked strawberry ice cream was the best thing she ever ate.

Tobi Voigt is the community engagement director for the Michigan History Center. When she's not doing museum work, she makes puzzles that feature maps and images from the Archives of Michigan, which you can buy at Michiganology.com. But lately she's been re-discovering her love of sewing by making COVID-19 masks for her community's fire department.
